About us

CJNeuroLab is a laboratory located at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona, made up of people with different skills and backgrounds – psychologists, medical doctors and engineers – who share an interest in investigating the cerebral bases of human cognitive functions.

At CJNeuroLab, we are engaged in different projects that aim to clarify the mechanisms responsible for cognitive deficits in different neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases using multimodal MRI techniques, and ultimately hope to contribute to the development of clinically useful imaging biomarkers. As an added bonus, our lines of research allow us to increase our understanding of how distinct aspects of the brain relate to normal cognitive functions, and how these functions are affected by the aging process.

CJNeuroLab is an active member of the Neuropsychology Research Group at the University of Barcelona, the Neuroimaging in Degenerative Disorders research group at the Institute of Neurosciences of the University of Barcelona, and IDIBAPS (Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer).

A major part of our work is related to education and training of new researchers, so anyone interested in taking part is welcome to contact us!
