I am a PhD candidate in Medicine and Translational Research at the University of Barcelona, with a background in Psychology and a Master’s in Neuroscience. My research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly alpha-synucleinopathies, spanning from prodromal stages (isolated REM sleep behavior disorder) to Parkinson’s disease and multiple system atrophy. I combine neuropsychological assessment with advanced multimodal neuroimaging approaches. I have also worked on phenylketonuria, integrating cognitive and neuroimaging data. My main interest lies in characterizing disease-related brain changes and cognitive profiles to better understand neurodegeneration from a translational perspective.
Biomedical scientist currently doing the PhD at the CJNeuroLab. My research interests are focused on identifying clinical, cognitive and neuroimaging biomarkers of short-term phenoconversion to synucleinopathies in patients with iRBD. In addition, I conduct research on other movement disorders, including Parkinson’s Disease and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. I also collaborate on a project involving middle-aged and older adults with Schizophrenia, investigating patterns of differential aging and their clinical, cognitive, and neurobiological correlates.
